Sachin Bansal

Co-founder, Flipkart

E-commerce

Co-built the company that taught India to shop online.

Sachin Bansal, with Binny Bansal, started Flipkart as an online bookstore and grew it into India's e-commerce pioneer.

What they built

Flipkart cracked hard, India-specific problems — cash-on-delivery for a cash economy, its own logistics, and trust in online shopping — long before the market was obvious. Its sale to Walmart was one of the country's biggest tech exits.

Why it matters for India

Flipkart proved a homegrown company could out-execute global players on Indian ground, and it seeded a whole generation of founders and operators.
