Zomato began in 2008 in the Delhi-NCR region as Foodiebay, a website that put scanned restaurant menus online. It grew into one of India's largest platforms for discovering, ordering and delivering food.

History

The company expanded from listings and reviews into full-scale delivery, building the logistics and merchant tools a nationwide network needs. It went public in 2021 in a landmark Indian tech IPO.

Today

Beyond food delivery, Zomato runs dining-out memberships and, through its acquisition of Blinkit, operates in quick commerce.
