Co-founder & CEO, Blinkit
Quick commerceRebuilt a struggling grocery startup into an India-defining quick-commerce brand.
Albinder Dhindsa co-founded the online grocery company Grofers and, after years of hard lessons about margins and logistics, made a bold pivot: rename it Blinkit and promise groceries in ten minutes.
What they built
The model rests on a dense network of small neighbourhood warehouses — dark stores — plus tight inventory and routing so a rider can pick and deliver an order in minutes. It is operationally brutal and unforgiving of waste, which is exactly why few could make it work.
Why it matters for India
Quick commerce is now one of the most watched categories in Indian retail, and Blinkit helped prove the demand was real. It is a case study in surviving long enough to find the model that fits the market.
